Workshop September 27th 2008

The 2008 workshop run by Royston Choral Society was held at the Greneway School on Saturday 27 September in association with the Royston Arts Festival. Approximately 35 people attended the workshop led by RCS Musical Director David Boarder, and accompanied by Nina Kornhauser. The programme provided everyone with an opportunity to explore a wide range of singing styles from early plainsong, through folksongs and classical, to songs from the Shows, and included an experiment in percussive vocal expression!
The men entertained the ladies with a barbershop arrangement of "I'm forever blowing bubbles" and the ladies reciprocated with "Hey Big Spender". Also during the day some movements from Mozart's Requiem were sung, as a taster for the next RCS concert on 22 November when the choir will perform Mozart's Requiem and Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna - tickets available now   Sue Pegram
